One of the best things about Irrational Season 2 is that we get a closer look at Marissa and Kelly and the work they do together at the FBI.
Marissa will see a major storyline related to her work in the midseason finale of Irrational, airing on December 3.
TV Fanatic has an exclusive first look at Irrational Season 2 Episode 7, which features a scene between Marissa and her new boss. Although the woman was friendly enough, Marissa was disappointed with what she said.
Marissa works hard…maybe too hard
In an exclusive sneak peek, Marissa’s new boss tells her that she’s been great at her job, but she’s doing too much.
She is cutting back on Marissa’s hours.
This will be very difficult for Marissa, who seems to have become wedded to her job.
This may be partly because she was trying to escape the pain of her boyfriend’s death in Irrational Season 1 Episode 11.
However, her work also helps make the world a better place, and she loves it. She doesn’t want to cut back on her hours.
Of course, if Marissa reduces her hours, she can still informally help Alec with the case, but it won’t be as satisfying as being the lead agent in charge of the investigation.
Plus, it would be difficult to help with cases if she wasn’t supposed to be working.
Marisa rejects irrational supervisory role
Marissa could have been the supervisor herself, but she turned down the role and instead stayed on as an agent in the field—will she regret it?
Even the head of the FBI has people to answer to, so she might end up in this situation anyway. But if she had taken on more of a supervisory role, she wouldn’t have told herself to work less hours!
Of course, then she probably wouldn’t be able to work on the case directly and would have to deal with all sorts of uninteresting and irrelevant things like the department budget and how well each agent accomplished their goals, and she wouldn’t be happy doing that.
Still, this unwelcome news about how many hours she is allowed to work will upset Marissa and may make her question her decision and try to decide what her options are.
The sneak peek of Irrational Season 2 Episode 7 does not include her reaction, just the news itself.
You’ll have to tune in to find out how she solves this problem!
Meanwhile, Alec has another interesting case
While the sneak peek focuses on Marissa, there’s more going on in Irrational Season 2 Episode 7.
Alec will team up with Ross again. It’s the first time they’ve worked together since he convinced her not to run away from their potential relationship out of fear that he would be hurt or killed by someone who hated her.
The case involves a K-pop superfan who was murdered, and the star they admired is the main suspect in the murder.
Things are never what they seem in “Irrational,” so you can bet it wasn’t the person who killed the victim, but this case should teach us a lot about the nature of stardom and the dangers of worshiping and obsessing over your favorite stars (for both parties).
Alec and Rose would put Rizwan, Phoebe, and Simon to work—or at least Phoebe and Rizwan.
Simon alternates between feeling stuck and thinking he’s not good enough, and the sneak peek for Irrational Season 2 Episode 7 doesn’t offer any clues as to which one that will be this time around.
I’m also curious to see what human experiments Alec will use to help him understand what’s going on.
