For the fourth year in a row, Vince Guaraldi’s score It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown Return to first place advertising billboard‘s children’s album charts, driven primarily by vinyl record sales. The album moved up one spot on the U.S. best-selling children’s album chart for the week on Oct. 5, according to Luminate. The latest chart reflects the week ending September 26.
The sister album to the 1996 animated TV special has spent at least one week at the No. 1 Kids Album spot every year starting in 2021, for a total of six weeks at the top.
The soundtrack also climbed to No. 9-8 on Jazz Albums and No. 6 on Traditional Jazz Albums. In 2019, it peaked at No. 2 in both rankings.
It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown It first aired on CBS broadcast television, then moved to ABC, and finally to the paid streaming service Apple TV+. The latter announced that the special will be broadcast for free on October 19 and 20 this year.
