Music industry veteran Jackie Farry, who fronted Elliot Smith and the Lemonheads in the 1990s, died of complications from lung disease on Sunday (January 12). When Farry was diagnosed with cancer in 2003, many of her friends supported her and organized a series of “f–k cancer” charity shows, including the Breeders, TV on the Radio and Guided By Voices. In honor of her long-standing support of pit bull rescue, donations may be made in Farry’s memory to the charity of her choice, LovePaws.
