James Gunn gives us a sneak peek at what fans can expect from his upcoming release superman.
The filmmaker and DC Studios co-head spoke to the media on the set of the highly-anticipated superhero movie earlier this year (via Gizmodo), he teases at the beginning of the movie, how Defender: Maverick Influenced the movie and how they donned the Superman suit. superman David Corenswet stars as the titular superhero, Rachel Brosnahan stars as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult ) plays Lex Luthor.
Gunn admitted that filming scenes in the sky was “really difficult,” but they had another iconic action movie starring Tom Cruise to draw some inspiration from.
“We start with things like Defender: Maverick,” he explained. “We shot a lot of the action with real drones that were flying around Superman and the people he was flying with, the Engineers and other people he was fighting in the air. We did it on a soundstage. .We have these really small, crazy drones that we have some of the best pilots in the world working with.

“We’re just starting in the middle of the action,” he said. “Superman already exists. Lois and Clark already know each other. Lex has hated Superman from the beginning, even though they didn’t know each other personally. So we start in the middle of the action.
Gunn added that after getting Superman involved in all the action, the main story of the movie will take place “in a very short period of time.”
Elsewhere, peacemaker The creators also shared how they decided on the new Man of Steel costumes, with Coronthwaite wearing the iconic red shorts.
“We tried all these different versions and screened the test with and without panties,” Gunn recalled. “One of the things David said is that Superman wants kids not to be afraid of him. He’s an alien. He has these incredible powers. He has lights coming out of his eyes… He’s so powerful that he can be considered Be scary, personal, and he wants people to like him. He wants to be a symbol of hope and positivity.
He continued: “So he dresses like a professional wrestler. He dresses in a way that people aren’t afraid of him, and it shows hope, it shows positivity. That really makes sense to me. I think the point of trying to pretend to be superhuman is There’s nothing frivolous about the costume in nature, trying to make it look serious is silly because he’s a superhero and the colors are bright and that’s who he is.
