James Wan Hired a writer to script his reboot creature of the black lagoon Universal Pictures.
The script will be written by Sean Tretta, who previously worked on ” Mayans MC and Star Wars: Picard. The script will be based on a treatment plan written by Wan, Rafael Jordan and Brian Coyne.
This version of the classic story is said to be “a grounded, modernized retelling that leans into visceral horror while respecting the original classic.”
Creature from the Black Lagoon Released in 1954, the story tells the story of a group of scientists who discover a prehistoric amphibian humanoid in the Amazon jungle.
While exploring a remote lagoon, a team led by Dr. David Reed became fascinated with the creatures known as “gills.” As they tried to capture and study it, the creature became aggressive, feeling threatened by intruders into its territory.
Scientists find themselves having to fight the creature’s wrath to survive.
Wan also produced the film under his Atomic Monsters banner Michael Clear and Judson Scott Executive production.
