The Beatles’ operating company, Apple Corps Ltd., announced the resignation of CEO Jeff Jones.
The company has yet to announce a successor.
“The entire Apple family wishes Jeff Jones well and expresses our sincere gratitude for his valuable contributions to the company and the Beatles’ legacy,” the company said in a statement on Monday (October 21).
Jones is a veteran cbs records, MCA Universal Music Company and PolyGramjoined Apple in 2007 after serving as executive vice president Sony/BMG. He spearheaded initiatives including the launch of TheBeatles.com, the official Beatles website, and the debut of The Beatles’ music on iTunes (now apple music).
Jones has been involved in several Beatles documentaries, including serving as executive producer The Beatles: Eight Days a Week – The Touring Years, directed by Ron Howard. He is also the executive producer of the Emmy Award-winning three-part documentary series The Beatles: Come backdirected by Peter Jackson and will be released in 2021.
He is currently the executive producer of the upcoming documentary The Beatles ’64producer Martin Scorsese And by David Tedeschi.
Apple Corps was established in 1968 to manage the Beatles’ creative and commercial interests. As part of the management of the Beatles’ intellectual property portfolio, the London-based company manages the legendary band’s recorded catalog.
The current directors of the company include John Lennon‘s widow, Yoko Onoand his son, Sean Ono Lennon.
Its subsidiaries include apple recordsa company that manages recorded music rights and film rights Apple Studiosand film production companies apple movie production and Apple Movies 64.
It also includes the dormant Apple Music Publishing Inc.; the vast majority of The Beatles’ publishing rights are owned by Sony Music Publishing.

Apple Corps Ltd. and the company’s share of the joint venture reported revenue of £45.898 million for the financial year ending January 31, 2024, according to its most recent filing with Companies House. At average exchange rates in 2023, this equals $57.09 million.

One of Apple Corps’ most high-profile events in recent years is launching in November 2023 now and thenmarketed as the Beatles’ last song. The song was originally recorded with speakers by John Lennon in 1978 and mastered using artificial intelligence-driven technology.
The song topped the UK charts, giving the Beatles the longest gap between number one hits – 54 years.
