jennifer foxOscar-nominated filmmaker to produce Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences 2024 Governors Awards, academy president Jenny Yang announced Wednesday. This will be the sixth time Fox has overseen the event, following the 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th editions.
The 15th Annual Governors Awards Ceremony will be held on Sunday, November 17th at the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Ovation Hollywood. quincy jones and Juliet Taylor will receive an honorary Oscar; Richard Curtis will receive the Gene Hersholt Humanitarian Award; and barbara broccoli and Michael G. Wilson will receive the Irving G. Tolberg Memorial Award.
“Jennifer is an exemplary producer and we are delighted to welcome her back to the Governors Awards for a sixth time,” Young said in a statement. “Her expertise is unparalleled and we look forward to a fun event.”
Foxx added, “I am delighted to be hosting this special event for the Academy in the new year. It is truly a highlight to pay tribute to the careers of these talented individuals and help kick off Oscar season.”
Fox began her development and production career at Universal Pictures, where she produced several films including Erin Brockovich. She then spent the next six years with Steven Soderbergh and George ClooneySection 8, the production company of Syria; good night and good luck; Informant!;and dark scanner. Her other film credits include duplicity; The Bourne Legacy; we need to talk about kevin; Nightcrawler; Mr. Roman J. Israel; Velvet circular saw; Report; The final duel; and upcoming magazine dream.
