Jeremy Dutcher Wins 2024 Polaris Music Award motwolonuwok, Make history by becoming the first person to win the award twice.
Dutcher will receive a $50,000 prize, which will be awarded to the best Canadian album of the year, an award determined solely on the basis of artistic merit by a panel of expert judges. He won the award for the first time in 2018, Wolastoqiyik Lintuwakonawa.
“I just want to say I love you all and I can only do this because you are here listening and that means a lot to me,” Dutcher said while accepting the award. “To advance art and music in this land, with our language, with our aesthetics,” he continued, “I say, we are here to shine for you—now go and shine for others. People shine.

The award was presented at the Polaris Gala at Massey Hall in Toronto, hosted by 2023 winner Debby Friday.
Other previous winners include Pierre Quindes (2022), rhythm weapon (2021), Backwash (2020), Javier is strong (2019), Lido Chili (2017), and Located in Kaitrana (2016).
