Brolin also has several high-profile projects in the pipeline, but for now, he’s focused on his hopes for the coming months.
In a recent interview with Variety , the actor discussed his disappointment that the Academy Awards screwed up by not nominating his work. dune director Denis Villeneuve 2021 Sci-Fi Epic Part 1.
This year, Villeneuve is once again in the running for the supervision award Dune: Part 2a rare sequel that receives better reviews than the original. Brolin plays Gurney Halleck, the mentor to Paul Atreides, played by Timothée Chalamet.
Brolin said of his director and friend:
“If he doesn’t get nominated this year, I’m going to quit acting. This is a better movie than the first one. When I saw it, I thought my brain was blown. It’s so masterful, Dennis is ours One of the masters of cinema. If the Academy Awards meant anything, they would recognize him.
There is a lot to do. But he’s passionate about Villeneuve’s place among the nominees, and I respect that.
