Katy Perry is excited about her experience on Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, which she took part in during a brief trip to Sydney in February 2024.
In a new interview, the 40-year-old pop star shared her excitement about taking part in the historic stadium tour and reuniting with Swift.
“I actually went to Australia very quickly to do a show, and I had a day off before the show, and I was like, ‘Hey girl, I’m coming to the show,'” Perry revealed in a TikTok video shared in the UK. 》radio station capital Friday (January 17).
“and [Swift] So excited, I’m so excited.
Perry also took some time to praise fans at Sydney’s Accor Stadium, describing them as “a lovely, sweet community”. She fondly remembers exchanging friendship bracelets with some of the Swifties in attendance, some even gifting her with their own handiwork.
“I’m so excited. People gave me bracelets and I think Rita Ora gave me a bracelet. I love it. It’s like a big community,” she told capital.
Outside of the concert, Perry and Swift had a chance to meet in person, with Perry expressing her deep feelings for the singer. “I love her very much,” Perry said.
After attending Swift’s Eras performance in 2024, Perry also shared several photos and videos from the concert on Instagram, including a happy selfie with Swift backstage.
Swift’s Eras tour, which grossed $2 billion, ends in December 2024 after touring extensively around the world. The tour caps off an incredible year for Swift, who also won 10 Billboard Music Awards in December, including the coveted Top Artist honor.
Perry’s comments come after the two pop stars mended their relationship after a highly publicized feud. The pair reconciled in 2018, and a year later Perry made a memorable cameo in Swift’s “You Need to Calm Down” music video, where they appeared together in matching burgers and French fries outfits .
Perry also expressed gratitude for how their friendship has grown. In a 2020 interview with Howard Stern, the singer said, “I’m so grateful that we did publicly reconcile and be an example of redemption for young girls.” Perry added: ” I’ve always wanted the best for her and now we can talk about what’s best for each other.”
