Katy Perry’s 143 Tops this week’s New Music Poll, which brings together artists from a variety of music genres.
Music fans vote in a poll released on Friday (September 20) advertising billboardselected the pop superstar’s sixth album as their favorite new music release of the past week.
143 It received nearly 59% of the vote, ahead of new films from Gwen Stefani (“Somebody Else’s”), Bad Bunny (“Una Velita”) and Keith Urban (Keith Urban).high), Bon Iver (“SPEYSIDE”), Future (mixtape pluto), and others.
143which is code for “I Love You,” marking Perry’s first album since 2020 Smilepeaking at No. 5 on the Billboard 200. Other song titles include “Crush,” “Nirvana,” “All the Love,” “Truth” and “Wonder,” among others.
“I set out to create a bold, energetic, festive dance-pop album with the symbolic number 143 expressing love as the overarching message,” Perry previously shared in a statement about the project. She added on TikTok, “143 is indeed a dance party. All fans, invited. It’s high energy, lots of love, mostly lots of love and BPM, summer, sexy. It’s for all of you.
This is Perry’s second consecutive week at the top advertising billboard‘s new music poll. Last week, the star’s “I’m His, He’s Mine,” a collaboration with Doechii, received 30 percent of the vote.
Trailing Perry in this week’s poll was Stefani’s “Somebody Else’s,” which received nearly 27 percent of the vote. The new single pays homage to No Doubt’s brand of new wave and radio pop, and will appear on the singer’s fifth album, bouquetset to be released on November 15th.
