It may be too early to tell whether Kelly Clarkson’s 8-year-old son Remy has inherited his mother’s talent, but he definitely has her charm and confidence.

Before the day’s taping, Clarkson played about 25 seconds of video of Remy singing a cover of Frank Sinatra’s classic “My Way” to warm up the studio audience. Clarkson’s 10-year-old daughter River provided the audience’s vocal support (and, no doubt, moral support). The studio audience gave Remy a round of applause.
The song is typically sung by middle-aged performers – Sinatra was 53 when he cut the song – looking back on their lives and taking stock of their successes and failures. The English lyrics, written by Paul Anka, include such gems as: “Regrets, I’ve had some/But then again, too few to mention.”
Sinatra’s version peaked at No. 27 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in May 1969 and won a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Male Vocal Performance. “My Way” is adapted from the French song “Comme d’habitude”, composed by Jacques Revaux and lyrics by Gilles Thibaut and Claude François. François performed for the first time in 1967.
