It is reported Rolling Stone, The outing Khalid refers to comes from a series of now-deleted tweets from X user and recording artist Hugo Almonte. After writing that a “gay R&B singer” once “tried to set me up and lied about me breaking into his house,” Almonte shared a since-deleted photo of him and Khalid.
In a statement to the outlet, Almonte claimed he wanted to “share how he tried to use his power to silence me for simply ending our relationship” and said he had received numerous death threats from people blaming him “Chasing influence” is what he advocates. “I kept at it for five years and finally had enough.”
When a fan pointed out that Khalid’s song and music video for 2022’s “Satellite” was already an “LGBTQ anthem,” Khalid responded by letting them know they were absolutely right. “Thank you!!! I never hid,” he said.
