Kim Kardashian ushered in 2025 by referencing her ex-boyfriend Ye (née Kanye West)’s bar comments on her Instagram Story on Wednesday (January 1).
“Sunglasses and painkillers…last night was crazy,” she wrote in the caption, which was retweeted from her own account in July 2012. The original photo features a gold Cuban Link shade and two Advil gels, and has over 100,000 likes, including from the late designer Virgil Abloh.
The title part is a nod to the rhyme of Ye watch throne The outstanding “No Church in the Wild”. “Sunglasses and painkillers/Last night was crazy/The sun came out at 5 a.m./I wonder if they still have taxis,” he raps on the Frank Ocean-assisted track.
“No Church in the Wild,” co-produced by West and 88 Keys, peaked at No. 72 on the 2011 Billboard Hot 100 chart.
The Skims mogul appeared to be spending the holidays with her family, posting a series of photos on Instagram that included her four kids — North, Psalm, Chicago and St. (Saint), with whom she shares the four children, along with mom Kris Jenner and sister Kourtney Kardashian.
Ye appears to have skipped the family’s Christmas celebrations. The reality star talked about Ye’s lack of help in co-parenting while claiming to be “raising four kids” on the show.
