hunter collar It’s finally coming out this weekend, and I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but the excitement about this movie is almost non-existent.
Director JC Chandor knew that the film’s success rate would be very low due to the lackluster nature of previous Marvel releases from Sony. But regardless, he hopes audiences and fans will give the film a try.
In a recent interview with Screen Rant, he acknowledged the past failures of Sony’s Spider-Man universe.
“I’m not going to fool anyone into thinking that all these movies have been the success that everyone wants them to be. So I’m able to watch that process and be a part of it.
“All I can control is go out and try to make the best movie, cast the best actors, create the best action scenes, create the best drama, create the best story that I can.”
He spoke about what he learned from his experience, saying: “We did learn something, in a way that worked, like, let’s not try to make it tell 16 different stories at once, right? ?Let’s make a really good movie at its core, and the direction will come naturally.
He continued: “I don’t want to give away the details of what we’re going on, but I think from a structural standpoint, it’s about a standalone movie, and it’s definitely a movie that has a rhinoceros and a foreigner, a chameleon. and calypso.
“This amazing group of characters that we’ve brought together definitely draw from all of the lore and all of the settings.”
Chandor added: “I hope people are going to be really excited about what we’re doing, but in a way the film can stand on its own and you can walk into the film and understand all of this, but it I really hope that both aspects can be helpful to you.
He went on to talk about the film’s story, teasing that it would set up Kraven the Hunter’s evil future.
“We’re building this movie to be a classic origin story. If you understand Kraven’s storyline and take it as seriously as we do, then when the last frame of our movie comes out, I think people are going to be excited Kraven is ready to go on this journey to evil because that’s the core of the character.
“He doesn’t start the movie from that place. I think that’s actually what makes this movie really cool, because you get to see the journey, but it’s a family saga that if anyone knew, if anyone knew Kraven The Last Hunt and loving that, that’s where Aaron and I, it was a sign that we signed up to do this, we created a character who, over time, would ultimately end up there.
Chandor is very proud of the film he made, and it would be great if the film does end up exceeding expectations. I’m going to shoot!
