Law and Order: SVU Season 26 Episode 16 makes me well.
I don’t understand why we need a sequel to the Ellie Coma story, but it all blends well together.
I am particularly grateful for the connection to Benson’s personal history – Law and Order: SVU used to do it frequently, but has forgotten it in recent years.
First, be enterprising about Benson’s history if you need it
Benson’s history as a product of rape was established in law and order: the pilot attack of the SVU in 1999.
The pilot is also the only time we meet her mother, who is worried that Benson is in trouble working in the Special Victims Department.
In Benson’s debate with his mother, Benson challenged her to the first sign that Benson was the product of rape if she had a chance to avenge the rapist.
I don’t remember being a pilot or a few episodes, but Benson joined SVU because her history made her want to support other survivors, but it also soon appeared.
I always thought Law & Order: SVU made a mistake by eliminating Serena from Benson’s life (and then killed several seasons), so I’m glad Law & Order: SVU Season 26 Episode 16 Episode 16 booked the main story, Benson visited his mother’s grave.
Anyway, I’m a fool in this kind of scene – I also like Blue Blood when someone visits Joe Reagan’s grave – but this works especially since Benson strives to forgive his mother for kidnapping her past sins, tied directly into the case.
Benson’s pain makes this sad sequel worthwhile
The first time Ellie’s story was tragic. In Law & Order: Season 26 Episode 6, she fell into a coma as her boyfriend beat her up.
After something she has endured, it seems cruel to rape her when she falls into a coma, and I’m not sure if I’ll like the sequel, even if it means more screen time for Graham Patrick Martin.
This story is more compelling than I expected, and the way to relate Benson’s pain to the main story is a big part of it.
Benson agrees with Ellie and the unborn child, which can easily turn into another story about her being too attached to people she once actively helped the SVU case.
The terrible, seemingly endless Maddie Flynn story about law and order: Season 25, Season 25 is burned permanently into my brain, and when Benson hugs Ellie’s mother, I worry we’ll do another ridiculous arc.
Fortunately, this didn’t happen, although the story is quite heavy.
Overall, I prefer the story of the whole team working together to investigate and then Carisi does his thing in court.
But Law & Order: SVU Season 26 Episode 16 doesn’t go there, even though it does approach Benson, Benson spent a lot of time trying to work with Laura and Laura and working to make sure the possibility that Laura and Chris’ mother think the baby isn’t Chris’
Both Fin and Curry support Benson’s important role in law and order: SVU Season 26 Episode 16
Another thing lifts the series above other plots, and Benson increasingly turns into an unhealthy obsession, the extent to which Benson’s friend is there.
FIN is mainly in the context of Law and Order: Season 26, so it is dual to be an important part of Benson’s support system.
Fin tries to stop Benson from going too far and calls on her to show it from her past pain.
Of course, Benson denied that, but at least the fin tried to let her see what she was doing and why.
When Finn thinks he is on an unhealthy path, he is never afraid to face Benson.
But, in the past, he did it in a nasty way.
In Maddie Flynn’s story (that stupid arc ruins everyone and everything!), he takes control and is too self-righteous.
I’m glad this time, he didn’t push Benson so hard, he tried to respect her privacy.
He was cautious about what Bruno and Curry said, although of course, it didn’t matter in Curry’s case, because she already knew Benson’s history.
I like Curry is also able to handle Benson’s problems sensitively. I liked it when she pointed out that she already knew Benson’s background and could talk to Fin about Benson’s performance.
Benson needs more female friends, especially now that Rollins is no longer working full-time.
Curry went from investigating her IAB agent to someone who had the potential to be close friends, and I liked the idea, which was weird.
Benson has a hard time getting anyone to join anyone, as Curry used to be an IAB agent and she might have a harder time believing Curry.
Given Benson’s trust issue, their friendship could lead to some interesting drama.
Random Thoughts on Law and Order: SVU Season 26 Episode 16
- Is there anyone else who seems to have ruined the relationship between Luara and Benson by Laura’s refusal to undergo DNA testing or even considering the possibility of her daughter being raped?
- The neurosurgeon who is too busy to provide a DNA sample is one of the best red herrings in recent memory. SVU performed well and I firmly believe he did it until he brought the youth pastor.
- Oh my god, that pastor is delusional (creepy!), why does the creepy guy on Dick Wolf always seem to have a wife and newborn in the backstage while the police are investigating the police?
