Law & Order: SVU Season 26 Episode 6 spoilers show Benson advocating for putting victims on life support.
If this sounds familiar, it is. Law & Order Season 24 Episode 4 focused almost entirely on whether a woman being kept alive solely by machines could be considered legally dead.
Of course, the story will be different and it will be interesting to find out the differences.
Law & Order: SVU Season 26 Episode 6 spoilers have Benson teaming up with FBI Agent Clay again
When FBI Agent Clay needs help finding a criminal who may be anywhere on the East Coast, Benson is called in to work the case.
If you forgot who Clay was, he was the FBI agent Benson initially contacted in his search for Maddie Flynn.
Hopefully this doesn’t mean a return of that horrible, screen-eating storyline or the equally annoying Agent Sykes, who stormed off after Benson discovered the truth about her missing sister!
Law & Order: SVU Season 26 Episode 6 spoilers only mention Clay, so he may only play a small part, similar to the uniformed cop who usually introduces the crime of the week.
In this case, he called Benson after spotting an assault victim at a remote campsite. According to the trailer for the next episode, the woman and her boyfriend were there and they were both attacked.
The man (Graham Patrick Martin, who I loved in Major Crimes) is okay but has no memory of the attack; his partner needs to be kept alive, which leads to a compelling conflict.
This seems like a good time for a crossover that probably won’t happen
The ship crosses paths between the Law & Order: SVU and FBI series, which have been established to be in the same universe despite being on different networks.
However, this seems like the perfect setting for another crossover with Law & Order.
Benson isn’t on the best terms with Price and Nolan, but considering they just found themselves in a similar situation, it’s time to mend fences — or try to.
While the episode likely won’t focus exclusively on brain-death vs. death, spoilers for Law & Order: SVU Season 26 Episode 6 include the victim’s distraught mother confiding in Benson that the hospital wants her daughter Removed from life support system.
I’m not sure what power Benson has in this situation, but the clip shows her visiting the patient and the woman squeezing her hand.
Unlike Law & Order Season 24 Episode 4, there may be a miracle here that will provide more evidence for the bizarre expert witness in the case who claimed to be brain dead, and it doesn’t necessarily mean that all hope is lost .
In this case, the question of whether a woman should be kept on life support is secondary. Law & Order: SVU remains committed to justice for trauma survivors.
So Benson is more interested in piecing together what happened and holding someone accountable than whether the suspect should be tried for murder or attempted murder.
The multi-survivor angle is interesting, especially considering one of them is male
Typically, SVU will focus on one victim, but they may discover other victims through their investigation and try to bring justice by catching a serial rapist.
This case was different in that it had two victims, only one of whom was conscious enough to give a statement but remembered nothing.
SVU doesn’t typically focus on male survivors, but one in 10 men is a victim of a sex crime.
Unfortunately, statistics show that women are at much greater risk from such crimes, so it makes sense that there are fewer male survivors in SVU. However, it is important to acknowledge all survivors and tell their stories.
That said, I wonder if the male survivors were ultimately partially responsible for the crime. SVU uses this type of plot twist a lot, so I wouldn’t be surprised.
Silva and Bruno check premonition
I’m not sure which is more exciting: more Silva and Bruno, or the latest SVU detective finally getting some air time.
Silva has been absent since her introduction on Law & Order: SVU Season 26 Episode 1, leaving viewers wondering what the point of bringing her on board so early was.
Still, her recent brief scenes with Bruno were fun and they had great chemistry.
This time, the pair will collaborate more extensively when they decide to follow their instincts together.
It’s unclear whose premonition this was, but we hope it works out.
If it does, that would make the two strong additions to Benson’s team, but if not, it will look like a waste of time in Benson and Fin’s eyes.
Obviously we don’t want this.
Over the past few seasons, Law & Order: SVU has fallen into a bad habit of female detectives turning rebellious, fighting Fen and Benson for a few episodes, and then disappearing.
Silva was supposed to be permanent, but after all the cast changes on SVU that’s hard to believe, so if her first big appearance involving her premonition turns out to be a waste of time, then that’s it for her That’s a red flag for her longevity on the show.
If we want the detectives to conflict with Benson and Finn, we need to at least get to know them first, so if things go well, Silva being shelved until this story seems like a worse idea.
Of course, Law & Order: SVU Season 26 Episode 6 spoilers don’t say whether the premonition will come true. If we knew this, there would be no point in watching.
Still, given recent history, spoilers like this make me nervous, even though I’d love to be wrong on this.
