The first poster has been released The Karate Kid: Legendthe next Karate Kid movie is in development and features Ralph Macchio, Jackie Chanand American born Chinese actor Wang Ben.
Mr. Wang is fluent in Mandarin and is proficient in multiple martial arts, including karate, wing chun/kung fu, kendo, boxing and taekwondo.
There are no details about the story yet, but Macchio will reprise his role as Daniel LaRusso and Jackie Chan will play Mr. Han, the kung fu master from Jaden Smith’s film.
The film will “mark the continuation of the original series’ mythology.” While that’s cool, I’m actually more interested in continuing Johnny Lawrence’s story!
The film will be produced by Jonathan Entwistle (The fucking end of the world) from the script written Rob Lieberproduced by Karen Rosenfeldt.
The film is scheduled to be released on December 13, 2024 by Sony Pictures.
