Liam Payne, who transitioned from one-dimensional star to successful soloist, died on Wednesday (October 16) at the age of 31. Payne died after falling from a third-floor hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina, according to police.

Notably, Payne becomes the third member of One Direction to have a No. 1 hit in a short period of time, after One Direction scored four top 10 pop songs and entered No. 3 with “What Makes You Beautiful.” ——Directly replaced Niall Horan’s “Slow Hands”; Zayn made his solo debut with “Pillowtalk” in May 2016.
