Lil Wayne seems to have some ideas for Kendrick Lamar’s new song “wacced out murals.”
On Friday (November 22), Lamar surprised fans with the release of his sixth studio album, GNX. The 12-track project covers a range of intense themes, including Wayne’s frustration at not being able to headline the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show in his hometown of New Orleans.
“I once bumped into Tower Carter III“, I’m proud of my Rollie chain/Ironically, I think I let Lil Wayne down with my efforts,” K. Dot raps on the album’s opener “wacced out murals,” referring to a video Weezy posted , recounting how hurt he felt that he wasn’t chosen.
Lamar continues the song, “Winning the Super Bowl, the only one congratulating me/All these people are excited, I’m glad they showed their faces.”
Wayne took some time to digest the lyrics and appeared to respond with a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday morning.
“OMG, did I do that?!” Weezy began the post. “I just calmed down, they are still in my mind. Let’s not mistake kindness for weakness. Let this giant sleep. I beg you. No one really wants destruction, not even me, but if disturbed, I will destroy. Love in me.
Back in September, Wayne publicly admitted that being snubbed for the Super Bowl halftime show in his own city was painful.
“It hurt. It hurt. You know what I’m saying. It was excruciating,” he said at the time. “I blame myself for not being mentally prepared for disappointment. And automatically mentally putting myself in that position, like someone told me that was my position. So I blame myself for that. But I think that’s okay. There’s nothing better than that place, that stage, that platform in my city, so it really hurts.
Wayne reiterated this sentiment at Lil WeezyAna Fest in New Orleans in early November, telling the audience, “I told myself I wanted to be on that stage in front of my mom, and I worked my butt off for that position. It It was taken away from me, but at this moment… they couldn’t take it away from me.
