Lizzo will officially kick off Halloween 2024 with a creative new costume.
The pop-rap star took to Instagram on Saturday (October 25) to show off her self-proclaimed “LizzOzempic” outfit, which was inspired by a recent episode of south park.
“Okay Halloween… you can get started now,” Lizzo captioned a fake ad that featured herself alongside a mock prescription box of diet pills.
this south park An episode titled “The End of Obesity” aired in May and hilariously criticized the Ozempic trend, using Lizzo as an alternative to popular medications. In this episode, Eric Cartman visits his doctor and seeks Ozempic to lose weight. When he learned he couldn’t afford it, his doctor prescribed an unconventional solution: “I’m going to write you a prescription for Lizzo. She’s a really good singer who talks about body positivity,” he said. “I want you to listen to Lizzo five times a day and watch her videos before you go to bed. I’m afraid you’ll have to rely on Lizzo for the rest of your life.
In another post showing off her Halloween costume, Lizzo fired back south park Dance to the show’s songs and close the camera. “Oooohhhhh…it’s Lizzo b–” she captioned the clip, which also included a cut of Cartman in the background.
The About Time Hitmaker also shared a clip of himself dancing next to someone wearing an inflatable Cartman costume. “This time of year, I feed you guys, you’re so popular,” she captioned the video, which was set to ROSÉ and Bruno Mars’ “APT.”
when south park Lizzo reacted on TikTok after the episode originally aired, expressing her surprise. “It’s crazy. I just thought, Damn, I’m such an asshole,” she said. “I showed the world how to love yourself, and now these men in Colorado know who I really am and put it into their comics, and it’s been there for 25 years.”
Lizzo has donned many imaginative Halloween costumes over the years, including ones based on Tina Turner, Maggie Simpson and Baby Yoda, among others.
