    “Lonely Afternoon” wins top prize in San Sebastian

    The Golden Shell Award for Best Film at the 72nd San Sebastian Film Festival was awarded to Albert Serra lonely afternoonA documentary about bullfighting beats stiff competition from narrative features from Joshua Oppenheimer, Edward Berger and Mike Leigh.

    The Spanish director’s film focuses on the story of the Peruvian-Spanish bullfighter Andres Roca Rey. While noting that the brutal images of the doctor make it a harrowing film, THRIn his review, chief film critic David Rooney called it “a stunning… unique study in discipline, bravado, laser focus and showmanship.” It beat Leigh’s cruel truth and Berger’s secret meetingand Oppenheimer’s dystopian musical ending.

    Elsewhere, the cast of Pamela Anderson and Gia Coppola the last showgirl Won the Special Jury Prize for Best Ensemble Cast. hollywood reporterA reviewer of this film said: “Even if the last showgirl The overall feeling is relatively slender, and it always focuses on beauty and atmosphere rather than psychological depth.     Laura Carreira wins Silver Shell Award for Best Director when fallingher film about a Portuguese worker in a Scottish warehouse coping with loneliness and alienation in the algorithm-driven gig economy, and thanks to Pedro Martin-Calero wailingIt tells the story of a group of young people who inadvertently resurrect an unseen evil.

    Patricia López Arnaiz wins Silver Shell Award for Best Actress shimmer Pierre Lottin won the same award for Best Supporting Performance when autumn comes.

    Other awards include Best Screenplay: François Ozon, Philippe Piazzo, when autumn comesand the New Director Award for Pete Baumgartner Bagh Drama. Luis Ortega receives Horizontes Latinos Award kill jockey. Park Song-il won the Best Cinematography Award bound in heaven.

    This year’s festival runs from September 20 to 28 and concludes with performances by Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh we live in time. Cate Blanchett, Javier Bardem and Pedro Almodovar received honorable mentions at the town’s Kursaal Theater .
