The Los Angeles Film Critics Association presented its annual Achievement Awards on Sunday, commemorating the organization’s 50th anniversary of honoring talent in the Hollywood film industry.
Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross were among the early winners at the ceremony, taking home top honors challenger.
The association previously announced science fiction legend John Carpenter as this year’s Career Achievement Award, citing his “ability to blend otherworldly menace and intense emotion into stylish, prescient, genre-crossing features” and “his An illustrious career that spans exactly 50 years of our group’s history.
Most of the time, the organization’s picks for the best films are nominated for the night’s top prize, an Oscar. That was the case last year when the Area of Interest took home the LAFCA trophy. The Los Angeles Film Critics Circle Awards will have gender-neutral acting categories for the third year in a row.
