Directed and co-written by Rose Glass, this strange and bizarre love story is caught up in an imbalanced romance amid the evil that lurks in the film. Glass, who shocked the world with his horror movies Saint MaudShares writing credit with Weronika Tofilska.
story
Lou runs a small gym every day in a small town in New Mexico. She meets Jackie, a muscular athlete traveling to Las Vegas to compete. Tumbleweed Jackie and semi-reclusive Lou fall in love.
Lou starts to come out of her shell just to learn that kind of love; real love, it’s not easy. This could be outright murder.

Desert towns are crazy
The residents of this New Mexico town are a bit left-of-center. Although this is not uncommon in desert environments. Many of the noir films of the last 20 years or so have characters that could be described as surreal.
Lao Lu is the local “leader” who relies on violence and murder to control his small kingdom. His daughter Lou runs a gym and becomes antisocial when she makes half-hearted attempts to quit smoking. In addition to having sex with anyone with a pulse, JJ also beats his wife, Beth.
Beth is Lou’s sister, and she seems content to be JJ’s punching bag. Daisy is a disturbed woman with poor hygiene who takes a liking to Lou.
Jackie joins this fun crowd. A weightlifting athlete met Lou at the gym.
this is unusual
Nothing is normal here. In addition to being the local “big boss,” Mr. Lou also owns a local shooting range and collects insects. After JJ introduced and recommended Jackie, he hired her. Now, Jackie had a connection with Lulu before she even met her.
Lou and Jackie’s courtship is a little slow and a little weird. Apparently, opposite sex does attract. Jackie was very health conscious. She is strong and has a perfect figure. Lou is not good at sports at all. However, she is attracted to all things “animal” fitness.
Sex seems to be the primary motivation, but appearances can be deceiving.

love lies bleed Located outside the box, far from a square object. The glorious moments of fantasy and surrealism are pure magic. It feels like it should have credit from the Coen brothers.

Stewart rocks here. She has grown a lot as an actress messenger The days are far away from her. O’Brien is another actor who eases into his role almost effortlessly.
Harris’ performance as Lou almost steals the entire movie. His “bug” collecting gang is evil and unbalanced. Only Harris has this ability. The ability to play disturbing characters.
behind the camera
Photographer Ben Fordesman embodies this. Each frame is accompanied by a certain electrical crackle. No matter the scene, he lets the characters move naturally.
Editor Mark Downs pulls everything together seamlessly.

love lies bleed Earns 5 out of 5 stars. This is different from a capital D. The romance between Lulu and Jackie is touching and endearing. It’s definitely worth a look.

love lies bleed A little bit of sex. The movie also has a bit of nudity, it’s rated R after all. However, none of these things are quite “in your face.” But you may want to keep the younger ones in your family away while you watch.
