Major Lazer’s Diplo sat down with Switch to share everything you need to know about the team. From first meeting to choosing their names to creating Guns Don’t Kill…Rays Kill, the two share stories about their time together, their journey over the past 15 years, and more!

I’m here with Diplo and Switch. We’re here to talk about the 15th anniversary of the seminal major laser album “Guns Don’t Kill People…Lazers Do.” First of all, how do you feel about what happened 15 years ago and what did it bring to you?
diplomat:
Well, we are old now. We have been doing –

diplomat:
It’s crazy that we’re actually 15 years into our career and still love music and we’re still the same creative people. I think Dave and I have known each other for so long, and it’s really cool to continue to be friends and to be together and to be able to work and share ideas and come from that world. So we can keep doing that, which is cool.
change:
Yes? It’s true. In fact, Jamaica is unique in the world and every time you go there, there is something new to pick out or buy. Do you know what I mean? It’s a new feeling every time I go there.
Do you still remember the first time we met?
diplomat:
Is it in Fabric?
change
Yes, London, yes. London.
diplomat:
I think I told this story recently, but Dave can correct me if I’m wrong. We all play Fabric. It was as if he was a resident there, he was in the same room.
