María Becerra talks about how she found beauty and joy through music and her most memorable fan interaction backstage at Billboard Latin Music Week.
Maria Becerra:
Well, when we do glam, a few times we listen to music and we like to start with something a little dynamic because glam is usually in the morning, so we start the morning with cumbia Argentina, cumbia en base, more upbeat , Santafesina cumbia, cuarteto or if not available, Mexican cumbia, Colombia, but there is always a little cumbia to keep us going. I feel like the simple fact of making music helps me find beauty and joy in my life. The truth is, I’m lucky enough to be a woman who gets to make a living doing something she loves, and her job is to express it, write her emotions into an open letter, and most importantly, put it into music. I think this fact brings me joy and helps me discover the beauty of life every day. This thing has been around for a while, but the fact is, the “cat eye,” you see, that type of makeup or eyelashes that makes the eyes look more drawn-out, has fascinated me from the moment I saw it, and I Love it. I love doing it, I love finishing it, that’s what I love most.
