at last! Mariah Carey kicked off the holiday season on Friday morning (November 1) with the release of her annual Christmas opening video. The Queen of Christmas has officially announced in her eagerly anticipated video for “It’s Time” that the countdown to the most wonderful time of the year has begun.
This year, she posted a video on Instagram in which Carey, 55, dressed as addams family. The clip begins on a dark and spooky night with a full moon, howling wolves and steady rain falling on a haunted mansion. The camera cuts to Kylie, wearing a sparkly black dress, black wig and dark makeup, holding the hand of a dancer dressed as Gomez Addams as she dances the couple’s signature scary tango .
But after a few spins and drops, Maria forcefully pushed Gomez out of the frame, threw a dagger in his face – narrowly missing her smiling love – and then did it to the camera A knowing look opened up a world of curiosity with her mind.
You know what’s inside: Maria’s red and white Santa sweater, of course. “It’s time!!!” Mariah wails with her signature whistle as she sits on a sleigh filled with gifts, the scene is filled with fake snow, Gomez transforms into a snowman and, of course, MC’s signature holiday classic “All I Want for Christmas Is You” also rang out.
The video ends with Kelly flashing a big smile as she and her reindeer prepare to take off on their sleigh. Carey has been teasing Christmas season launches for weeks, including releasing a “Christmas Time Setlist” on Apple Music, unveiling the cover art for four new “What I Want for Christmas” physical singles, and As always, she posted the “No But” video to make sure no one got too hasty at her favorite festival.
Now, those skeletons need to be put away for another year, and it’s the season to play “All I Want” as Carey celebrates her 30th anniversary Merry Christmas The Merry Christmas Time Tour is scheduled to begin on November 6 in Highlands, California. Last year, “Everything I Wanted” once again topped the Billboard Hot 100, marking the holiday classic’s fifth consecutive year at the top since debuting at No. 1 in 2017.
