Marvel TV head Brad Winderbaum recently opened up about the future of Marvel Charlie CoxDaredevil and Joe BernthalThe Punisher Following the Events in the Upcoming Series Daredevil: Rebirth.
While a guest on the Phase Hero podcast, Winderbaum was asked if he thought the Punisher had a future in the MCU, and he responded:
“He’s fantastic in this role and I can’t wait for you to see him on screen in this series, and he definitely has a future in the Marvel Universe after that.”
He then went on to talk about the future of the Daredevil franchise, saying he sees a long-term future for it: “I think this is a series that can run for multiple seasons.”
He explained that the “intricate” New York settings they created for the show were very similar to game of Thrones Because “there are just multiple factions competing for power in very complex ways.”
Winderbaum went on to say that he doesn’t think audiences are ready for Daredevil Rebirth, explaining, “I actually don’t think audiences are ready for Daredevil Rebirth because of these characters. The emotion is very deep.
“It’s one of the most violent things we’ve ever put on screen, but it’s in the service of a larger tragedy that’s really compelling.”

He previously teased some of the action in the series, saying: “I’m telling you, some of the most brutal action we’ve ever put on screen is coming. Daredevil: Rebirthit’s not a horror film, but it does pack a punch and has a lot of visceral action, to say the least.
He also shared, “The characters have matured and the universe is different than it was before. Things have changed, society has changed. Matt and Wilson have changed as well.
“Their characters will clash in ways we’ve never seen before. It’s no longer enough to try to murder each other. This is a political game.
