‘Tis the season of gift-giving, but this year all Matlock has under her tree is beautifully packaged revenge. You already know she’s going to use that extra pretty ribbon.
Despite her lack of faith during the Sixteen Steps, it looks like Madeleine will actually keep her day job. There are interesting parallels with Kathy Bates, who everyone thought would retire after the show ended.
Fortunately, neither is true. In this promo for Matlock Season 1 Episode 7, Madeleine is back in top form and ready to spread some holiday cheer.
It’s been a long time coming, but Marty definitely has some big plans for Jacobson Moore this season, and I’m not talking about the holidays. However, now would be a good time to revisit Kathy Bates’ performance as Mother Claus in “Fred Claus” alongside Vince Vaughn.
Matlock fans would be wise not to let down their guard against Beau Bridges senior
I’m not kidding when I say Marty spreads a little holiday cheer. At the start of the Matlock promo, Marty tells Senior, “What do you think about us giving them a little holiday cheer?”
Immediately, the first thing that came to my mind was Marty setting his sights on Jacobson Moore’s head. Madeleine needs to be careful because when you chop off a hydra’s head, three more will grow in its place.
I mean, even if Marty manages to find the documents she needs, there’s no guarantee that Senior doesn’t have a contingency plan.
As many viewers remember, and may still be as upset as this TV fanatic, Senior pulled a dirty little trick when he performed the “Texas Two-Step” on Matlock Season 1 Episode 4 .
Isn’t that despicable? Yes. Is it completely legal? Absolutely. So, the senior may be played by the adorable Beau Bridges, but that doesn’t mean viewers should let their guard down.
Senior’s rise to the top of an elite law firm is no accident. There is a legal mastermind behind it all.
Matlock makes the most of characters other shows might have abandoned
In the promo for Matlock Season 1 Episode 7, the tagline is “Tis the Season of Revenge.” I don’t know about you, but this sounds like a fight over holiday cheer.
However, who doesn’t like to get into some mischief during the holidays? That’s why we rewatch movies like Home Alone or How the Grinch Stole Christmas. We love the combination of chaos and magic.
Speaking of chaos, everyone’s favorite jury consultant is back for another round of driving Madeleine crazy. That’s right, Shae (Yael Groglas) is back with her passion and over-analytical nature.
One thing that really annoys viewers is when an interesting character who works alongside or is affiliated with the main characters is introduced and then never seen again.
Thankfully, Matlock has proven it won’t go down this road, as we’ve seen many times with the hilarious Patricia Belcher as Mrs. B. You know she didn’t forget about Marty’s dog biscuit, which died, but don’t worry because it was never real in the first place.
Since last seeing Shae on Matlock Season 1 Episode 3, Marty has gotten better at handling her lies. However, nothing is hidden from this sharp-eyed jury consultant.
Then again, Madeleine Matlock can be heard saying at the end of the promo: “They won’t know what hit them.
All is coming Revenge for Madeleine Matlock
The official synopsis for Matlock Season 1, Episode 7 reads: “Marty joins Julian on a case involving a young woman suing after she developed severe symptoms during a clinical trial. At a company holiday party, Olympia Learned the secret of Julian’s past.
Well, Madeleine Matlock is moving on. She wanted to get close to Julian to get into the drug case, which she did.
Viewers may remember the ending of Matlock Season 1, Episode 6, when Marty impressed Olympia and Julian so much that they ended up moving her to where she needed to be.
There is a moment in The Sixteen Steps when everything is on the line. Marty is identified as Madeleine Kingston on a dating app, Edwin’s morale is low, and Marty has a panic attack, thinking it’s a heart attack.
The plan to unseat Jacobson Moore is all but over, but things are back on track like an early gift. It looks like the events in “The Belly of the Beast” will work in Marty’s favor as well.
This holiday, tea will be served with hot chocolate
While things in Matlock tend to lean on the dramatic side due to the cases the company takes on, there are still plenty of laughs and tears.
The description for Matlock Season 1 Episode 7 mentions an office holiday party. Now, you don’t have to see an office Christmas party to know there’s going to be misfortune and chaos.
When you gather overworked adults together and give them free alcohol, they act like kids in a candy store. It’s all sugar and crap.
In that regard, Marty (Kathy Bates) might be able to stop Shae from grilling her throughout the episode. Even better, at least to Marty, Julian may not be as clean as he seems.
Apparently tea will be served with hot chocolate this year because someone is going to spill the tea all over Julian’s past.
Granted, this is most likely the part of the episode that will make viewers laugh. After everything he’s been through, the idea that something from Julian’s past might haunt Olympia is laughable.
If I had to guess what this secret from Julian’s past might be, I’d say that maybe Shae and Julian had a fling at some point.
In The Sixteen Steps, Julian and Olympia have rekindled their marriage and appear to be on the verge of a happy reconciliation. Considering how close they had become again, it had been a long time.
You know what’s really fun? If Elijah returns for the holiday office party, learns that Olympia and Julian are back together and drops a truth bomb on Olympia about Julian.
Of course, this is all speculation, but with a show like Matlock, you already know that anything that happens is bound to be interesting.
