Is there a statute of limitations for cheating?
They say love is a beautiful thing, but it can also be quite fickle. The man making these claims was never married to Matlock’s solicitor, Jacobson Moore.
Of all the male characters in the play, Julian is the best and the most supportive and understanding of Olympia. Yet, somehow, he was voted both Husband of the Year and Worst.
Throughout the first half of “Matlock,” Olympia Lawrence appears to be a force of nature.
From how she effortlessly commands a room with her indomitable spirit, to her well-hidden big heart, Olympia is the epitome of a woman who knows her strengths and uses them with expert skill.
So what’s a capable wife like her to do when the love of her life tells her he’s been unfaithful to her?
Olympia Lawrence may be the boss at work, but she’s still a heartbroken woman
Olympia Lawrence, like Marty, has been front and center on Matlock since its first season. This is perhaps why the story of Olympia is as crucial to the central plot as Madeleine’s revenge.
The two women spend about ninety percent of the show in love, and their relationship continues to grow. It was a rough start, however, as Olympia had more walls than Fort Knox.
She should, because even in this day and age, I can’t imagine being a powerful attorney and woman of color being easy. Miss Lawrence (Skye P. Marshall) has a beautiful set of brass balls of her own, and she doesn’t hesitate to let everyone around her know.
Ultimately, though, Olympia is just as human as the rest of Matlock’s characters, and even she can’t escape the pain of betrayal.
Is anyone else totally surprised that Olympia didn’t ignore the whole thing?
It’s a bit of a shock to find out at the end of In the Belly of the Beast that Julian set foot in Olympia years before they were separated.
People say you always have to look out for the “good guys,” but that seems to be a myth told because in the real world, I’m pretty sure bad guys are more likely to cheat than people who actually have good intentions.
This is just my experience though, if you know of a good guy in real life who cheated like Julian, please turn this myth into fact in the comments below.
However, the real surprise came in Matlock Season 1 Episode 8, which showed just how distraught Olympia was about the news. To be honest, I really didn’t expect her to be so shocked by the news.
Sure, it’s a great TV show, but does anyone else think Olympia will just put the whole thing behind her so easily in order to start over on good terms with Julian?
This might be a good time for Olympia to get used to betrayal
Those skilled Matlock writers are always one step ahead. Instead of being the boss as usual, Olympia lets the hands behind the show make the character react like everyone else.
Olympia had been torn between wondering who this woman was and knowing that her face would haunt her if she knew.
However, at the end of the episode, in true Olympian form, she makes the decision to face the situation head-on.
Now, for Julian, it’s a difficult task. Sure, he made a mistake before parting ways with Olympia, but why? Are things just not going well in the marriage?
As long as Julian’s (Jason Ritter) cheating issue is sorted out, things should be smooth sailing for the two now.
It also has to be specific because no marriage is without a bump or two. The more specific the reasons for Julian’s infidelity, the greater the likelihood of resolution.
Either way, this whole incident is a good opportunity for Olympia to get used to the sting of betrayal. Once she finds out that Madeleine Matlock is Madeleine Kingston, everything falls apart.
For now, we’ll just have to prepare for the fallout until CBS’s Matlock returns from winter break in a few weeks.
