Megan Thee Stallion has long proven that sexy girls contribute to the causes they believe in, and now her philanthropy will be recognized at the Golden Heart Awards , the award will benefit anti-hunger charity God’s Love We Deliver.
As announced on Tuesday (September 10), the “Hiss” rapper will receive the inaugural genLOVE Outstanding Philanthropy Award, which will be presented for the first time at the event in New York City on October 21. Sarah Jessica Parker will also be honored at the event, accepting the Michael Kors Award for Excellence in Philanthropy at a ceremony inside the historic Cathedral of St. John the Divine.
Coles is one of the returning co-chairs of the Golden Heart Awards, as are John Idol and Brian Trump. Anna Wintour also returns as Honorary Chair.
In addition to the awards, the four plan to host a dinner planned by restaurateur Melba Wilson for attendees to enjoy, along with a series of surprise guests. One of the highlights of the evening was five-time Grammy Award winner Sam Smith taking the stage for a special performance.
Golden Heart Awards tickets are available online at varying prices and come with a variety of benefits in addition to banquet seats, such as digital advertising, dedicated social media posts, special recognition at the event and more. The more expensive the ticket, the more medically customized meals covered by God’s Love We Deliver will be donated to people battling HIV/AIDS, cancer and other serious illnesses. Last year, the award went to Scarlett Johansson and Ben Platt and raised more than $3.5 million, providing more than 350,000 nutritious meals to customers.
This year, the charity has arguably picked a more charitable rapper to focus on. In 2022, Meghan launched her own nonprofit, the Pete and Thomas Foundation (named after her late parents) to help fund philanthropic initiatives in Houston. Two years later, the foundation, led by the three-time Grammy Award winner, launched the Emergency Power Program to provide seniors affected by Hurricane Beryl with coordinated solutions to receive power during natural disasters.
