The organizational department of Local 700 has hired Micah Landau, who will be outside the Guild’s New York office and will focus on organizing efforts in the East.

Micah brings nearly two decades of experience working in the labor movement in and around New York. He recently served in staff at the Local 700 Sisters Alliance, the Association of Photographers (Local 600), and served in Sag-Aftra, Seiu 32BJ and United Teachers Federation. He joined the team of other members in Los Angeles: Preston Johnson, the Western Region organizer and Rob Callahan, the organization director.

“Organization is an important growth component of any union,” said the guild president Ace. “We are pleased to welcome Micah on board and know that he is crucial to winning union contracts for hard-working post-production professionals in the East.”

Members (and non-members) engage in post-production non-union work can contact the local 700 organization departments to discuss how to win editorial association contracts in non-union workplaces and help raise employment standards in our industry. Email the team to andurmising@editorsguild.com.
