Lionsgate announced MichaelThe Michael Jackson biopic “” directed by director Antoine Fuqua is now scheduled to be released in major theaters on October 3, 2025.
The feature is delayed six months from its original planned release on April 18, 2025.
Starring Jafar Jackson, nephew of the late pop superstar, while Nia Long, Laura Harrier, Miles Teller and Colman Domingo also join the cast. The project’s script is directed by Fuqua, with Graham King, John Branca and John McClain serving as producers.
Lionsgate has also confirmed that its comedy “Good Luck” will be released widely in theaters on October 17, 2025. , Keke Palmer, Sandra Oh and Keanu Reeves co-starring. Ansari, Anthony Kartagas and Alan Young serve as producers.

At San Diego Comic-Con in July, Fuqua talked about his progress on Michael, explaining that he was editing the film at the time.
“The reason I wanted to make this movie is, Michael,” the filmmaker said. “Michael was a huge part of my upbringing and had a huge impact on my career, he’s an incredible artist – but he’s also a human being and we’re exploring that. I feel like Very excited.
A video of Michael was shared at CinemaCon in April, and King revealed that the film will feature 30 songs and be longer in order to do justice to Jackson’s story.
