oh. mine. God. Are you done crying?
Murder in the Building Season 4 Episode 10 is, without a doubt, the best episode of the entire series.
We got everything we wanted: a solution to Saz’s murder, a new guest star, and a new body to set the stage for Murder in the Building Season 5.
But more importantly, we get a happy ending. Everything is wrapped in a neat little bow and I love every second of it.
The real magic of this episode, however, is the emphasis on the bond between our beloved trio.
I was shocked that Charles and Oliver didn’t hesitate to risk everything for Mabel, especially Oliver.
It’s one thing to watch him rush past Loretta when she arrives in Arconia, but to see him walk up to the ledge with Charles and use his wedding dance moves to show Charles how to get across? Blown away.
Oliver has come so far, and it’s clear that his relationship with Loretta played a big role in that transformation.
As much as I complained about her, I’m now convinced that without her we might never have seen this side of Oliver.
What does Loretta know about Oliver’s relationships with Charles and Mabel? So sweet. She loved him and considered Arconia his true home, alongside Charles and Mabel.
When Oliver offers to follow her to New Zealand for work, she gently reminds him that their relationship has always been unconventional—why change it now?
She didn’t ask him to make a choice, nor did he feel he had to. Oliver has come a long way, baby!
Wrap it all up
Saz’s murder has a complete explanation, finally showing us how it all happened.
Marshall, or rather Rex, betrayed her in the worst possible way.
Sadly, Saz saw potential in him, only for him to stab her in the back and kill her.
Marshall’s obsession and jealousy reach a boiling point, and while his fate is sealed (thanks to Jane), it leaves Charles with a bittersweet ending.
The writers even gave us a “ghost” moment between Charles and Saz on set, giving him a chance to let go of the guilt he’d been feeling.
And what about the West End? I loved their “ding-dong” distraction so that Oliver and Charles could get to Mabel’s apartment in time to save her.
Mabel has no worries about Marshall’s gun. Her quick thinking and ability to negotiate her way out of difficult situations show us that Mabel is indeed Mabel.
The little moments between Charles, Oliver, and Mabel made this episode memorable.
From Charles telling Oliver how Mabel taught him to use accent marks in his text messages, to Mabel quietly taking away Charles’ champagne at their wedding, these small gestures show how much they care for each other.
Perhaps the most touching moment was when Charles and Mabel walked Oliver down the aisle. Seeing them by his side, supporting him on his big day, was the perfect symbol of their relationship.
It’s not just sweet; It’s a testament to how they become each other’s family. It’s not just about solving a murder; it’s about friendship, loyalty and love.
This is one of my favorite things about this show: their friendship is genuine. It’s not forced or contrived, and the generation gap only makes it more likable.
It’s rare to see a dynamic like this on television and I loved every second of it. This is one of the best elements of this show.
It was a joy to see Charles and Oliver’s technical struggles and awkward humor, while Mabel’s quiet resilience and intelligence added depth to their friendship.
It’s not one-sided – Mabel learns from them too, things she might never have learned without these friendships.
A new mystery (and guest star) awaits
I don’t know about you, but I am arouse About Tea Leoni (I love her!) as Sophia Caccimelio.
When Sofia asks the trio to investigate the disappearance of her husband — Nikki “The Neck,” aka the “King of the Brooklyn Dry Cleaners” — it sets up a fantastic premise for season five.
Her request could be the perfect way for our trio to expand on the podcast and bring a new twist to their murderous shenanigans. But, of course, they turned her down.
Still, her arrival adds a whole new layer to the finale.
I’m not sure if we’re going to have another murder after that gorgeous wedding, I half expected the trio to consider Sophia’s case.
But this yes After all, there are only murders in the building – and naturally, we do get a body. Wow, what a shock!
The mystery seemed too perfect. Is Lester’s murder connected to Sophia’s husband’s disappearance? The timing seems very convenient, don’t you think?
Speaking of weddings – aren’t they pretty?
The whole setup is beautifully done. (Okay, Mabel’s dress isn’t my favorite, but Loretta is beautiful!)
The whole thing was gorgeous, from the decor to the warm, feel-good moments between friends. It’s a scene that makes you feel like you’re right there, celebrating with them.
Hats off to Murder in the Building for another great season and an unforgettable fourth season finale.
