I wanted to shoot some quick and dirty shorts to do some creative and technical testing before committing to a feature film by the end of the year. One of the test projects was a no-budget short film that offered a minimalist look at a young model’s first day on set. Using a dark dreamy style to highlight this idea is to highlight a different side of the modeling world.
The film was shot in two and a half days in March, but I didn’t finish it until this week because my day job took up my time. The film will officially premiere at a film festival in Los Angeles next month, and as soon as the schedule details are announced, I’ll post them in case anyone in the Los Angeles area wants to come out.
As with several of my recent film projects, I shot this video on a Blackmagic Cinema Camera (EF) using a Tokina 11-16, Rokinon Cine 35, and Rokinon Cine 85. I use FCP
