One day, we’ll get through an episode of NCIS: Origins without shedding a tear. Until that day comes, please continue to use the automated tissue delivery service.
Man, what a deep dive into a previously unknown part of Randy. Is it just me, or does every NIS team member seem to be struggling with one personal issue after another?
“NCIS: Origins” captures the tough guy with high emotional intelligence. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many gun-toting male characters cry, and I loved it.
Seriously, NCIS: Origins is a standout in terms of storytelling.
While some viewers thought the show wasn’t like the NCIS series, everyone agreed it was still a great drama.
From golden boy to tough guy, ‘NCIS: Origins’ Randy has many layers beneath his adorable smile
Let’s get right to the heart of this incredible episode. It’s clear that Randy is a total badass and hides it behind an adorable smile for seven episodes.
If you’ve read the NCIS: Origins Season 1 Episode 8 spoilers, you know we’re fully expecting to see a very different side of the NIS golden boy. I think it’s safe to say that the series exceeded our expectations.
I still can’t get over how quickly Randy went from being a nice guy to a kick-ass cop who choked a grown man to death. I think even the way he walks has changed. He had a sense of swagger.
The rest of the team was just as surprised as the audience. It’s a good thing Lando has a wife, because he’s the definition of “husband material.”
As shocking as it is to see Randy’s tougher side, no one is prepared for the secret that continues to weigh on him. Viewers probably guessed it before he confessed to Father Bobby, but it was still heartbreaking.
“Face your story bravely”
Randy’s confession not only reveals what’s been bothering him, but also whether he really is the sweet guy he seems.
Who can blame Randy for Agent Mitchell’s death? Randy’s newborn is sick and he can’t sleep. He was right not to accept protection.
Of course, Mitchell will live with his child, but as Father Bobby hinted, Randy needs to be there for his son. Sometimes, things are out of our control, and all we can do is find the strength to keep going.
In this series, almost every character has gone through a lot of reflection. Luckily, NCIS: Origins Season 1 Episode 6 focused much better on Randy than it did on Lala.
One particular CSI: Origins fan made a great point about the character. The show has purposefully focused on lesbians from the beginning, but without any compensation.
Viewers have been waiting to see how Lala fits into Gibbs’ story since the show began. We thought we’d get some answers in “Invisible,” but that episode only left us with more questions.
If Mark Harmon hadn’t mentioned lesbians when he said “This is her story,” everything would have been fine.
It would have been better if the character had made a statement, but instead of keeping the focus shot on Lala, it should have jumped to each female character, thus keeping the woman Gibbs was referring to a mystery.
This could very well be Vera’s or even Mary Jo’s story as well. There are a lot of unique female characters that can add some mystery to the game.
At least we know for sure that Lala wants to move forward in her career. Of course, if you ask Mike Franks, he’ll tell you that’s not the path for lesbians.
‘NCIS: Origins’ is the love child between action movies and high emotional intelligence
It’s a good thing Mike is so cute because that guy is terrible with words.
When he told Lala, “You don’t belong behind the desk. You belong with me, in the dirt,” I couldn’t help but laugh, because of course that was a compliment from Mike.
He has a perfect mustache and may look rough on the outside, but he hides a big teddy bear under his holster. As Lara from Mariel Molino’s Promised Land puts it, Mike is a sentimental guy.
With a show like “NCIS: Origins,” there’s always a reason to cry and get emotional. Giving an emotionally fragile character license to film may seem like an odd choice, but it works.
Speaking of jobs, has anyone else wondered what makes someone want to become a pastor? They always seem to fall into two categories.
They are usually either struggling with a dark past and trying to make amends, or they are filled with God’s love and spreading His message is their only path in life.
Father Bobby is somewhere in between. This man was clearly tormented by demons from his past, but he genuinely cared about the well-being of others and tried to do what was right by God.
Raise your hand if you think Father Bobby is a surefire martyr. It would be better to write that he is alive, otherwise, it will paint the picture that the only way to forgiveness is death.
Even for CBS’s “NCIS: Origins,” it’s dark. Additionally, we might want to see Father Bobby show up again.
Speaking of reappearances, who we saw at the end of the episode was none other than Jamison “Bug” Boyd. To be honest, he doesn’t look any better.
The last time we saw the burnt-out murderer was during the season 1 premiere of NCIS: Origins. Now he’s back, but for what reason remains unknown.
Vera is working on her profiling program, and considering how much screen time is devoted to mentioning it, I’d say it will play a big role in the coming episodes.
We still have a few episodes left after NCIS: Origins takes a break until the New Year. A lot can happen between now and then.
You also know that the show goes on hiatus after the cliffhanger just to keep viewers going crazy over the holidays. Either way, it’ll be action-packed and tear-inducing.
NCIS: Origins has had a rocky start, but the show has definitely found its way. While not everyone agrees on what type of show this is, we can all agree that Kyle Schmid is killing it as Franks.
What is your favorite part or aspect of NCIS: Origins?
Do you think Gibbs would want to know that Randy was originally supposed to be his wife and daughter’s protector?
