pride and Prejudice The background of the story is set in England in the early 19th century. The story revolves around Elizabeth Bennett, the smart and lively second daughter of the Bennett family.
In the story, Elizabeth explores issues of marriage, morality, and social expectations, especially her family’s financial constraints and the pressure to find the right partner.
Elizabeth’s strong will and independence often clashed with social norms, as exemplified by her evolving relationship with the wealthy and initially estranged Mr. Darcy.
The novel also explores the dynamics within the Bennett family and the relationships of other key characters. Throughout the story, Austen provides social commentary on class, wealth, and marriage, criticizing the restrictions placed on women during this period.
