Season 2 will cover four years, taking us back to Cassian Andor’s years as a Rebel spy and his pursuit of the secrets of the Death Star’s construction.
Creator Tony Gilroy Explaining how the story will unfold in the series’ final season, he said: “When we come back later, it’ll literally be like Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Then, we’ll jump a year and then we’ll It’s four or five days, and then we’ll jump a year, and then there’ll be another four or five days, and then we’ll jump a year, and then another four or five days.
every three episodes Andor Season 2 will take place over the course of a year, and previously speaking about what we can expect from the series, he explained that it explores the stress, heartbreak, and triumphs of growing rebellion.
He added: “Think about the revolution, think about it from the perspective of Lucian Reel, Saw Gerrera and Mon Mothma.”
“They were the original gangsters of this thing in the beginning, it was underground, it was secretive, it was small, it was isolated and controlled. Four years later, it’s going to be much bigger. Think about it. Any restaurant you know that started as a coffee shop, think of any startup.
“What happens? Things get really complicated. If your stock and your business dealings are subject to paranoia, secrecy, betrayal and serious consequences, it’s really hard to grow your business.
Gilroy continued: “And then thinking about it from the Imperial side, they’re getting very, very close to a very important energy project. People may have heard about it. It’s an energy project.”
“I guess it’s not surprising, but I think you see the wear and tear of the 20 or 30 people that we push and you see all the stress and all the heartbreak and all the triumphs. Kassian was there center.
“You’re going to see those people stumbling into a very complex mess and history, and we’re going to be paying attention to that.”
He continued: “We’re going to have a calendar. We have some events on the calendar, you know what they are, some of them, they’re very important and we’re going to get those events right.”
The first season of the series was fantastic and I am very confident that the creative team will deliver another incredible season!
It will premiere on Disney+ on April 22, 2025.
