Melvin White is a neurotic, accident-prone cop who is demoted to the night shift, where he secretly moonlights as “The Unknown Comedian,” an anonymous stand-up comedian who performs with a paper bag on his head. When someone uses the same cover to pull off a series of bar robberies around town, some begin to suspect White is the culprit.
