It’s already famous as one of British rock veterans Oasis’ longest songs, but now founding member Noel Gallagher has far surpassed that record with a six-hour version of “Champagne Supernova” .
according to independentGallagher has created a new version of the enduring song as an ambient remix for a new exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery in London.
The Legends exhibition, which opens on November 29 and runs until March 2, features more than 100 portraits of people from the worlds of art, fashion, business and entertainment, shot by photographer Zoë Law.
As well as photos of England World Cup winner Sir Bobby Charlton, the exhibition will also feature photos of actress Kim Cattrall, actor Orlando Bloom and Gallagher himself. It also features a portrait of Sienna Miller holding the 1967 Epiphone guitar that Galgel used while writing “Champagne Supernova.”
Originally released in 1995 as the outro to Oasis. (What’s the story) Morning glory? “Champagne Supernova” was released as the record’s sixth and final single, eventually spending five weeks at the top of the Alternative Airplay charts in April and May 1996.
News of an extended ambient version of the song is the latest in Oasis’ headline-grabbing run this year, thanks in large part to the British band’s unexpected reunion earlier this year.
The band announced an immediate sell-out series of shows in the UK in 2025, and revealed five North American tour dates on September 30, with shows scheduled for August and September 2025 in Chicago, New Jersey and California. Oasis is coming,” the band said at the time. “You have one last chance to prove that you’ve always loved us.”
While the reunion has generated a lot of excitement internationally, Oasis’ upcoming tour dates have also made headlines for the wrong reasons, namely due to the use of controversial surge pricing practices.
The backlash from UK fans led Oasis to issue a statement after announcing their US tour dates, stating that this practice would not be used for their North American tour.
“It is widely accepted that dynamic pricing remains a useful tool in combating ticket touting and makes prices below market prices more affordable for a significant number of fans,” they said in a statement.
“But when unprecedented demand for tickets (the entire tour could be sold multiple times when tickets go on sale) is combined with technology that can’t keep up with that demand, it becomes less efficient and can result in an unacceptable experience for fans.” .
