Bill Skarsgård Apparently going into a super dark place while playing director Count Orlok Robert Eggers‘ Upcoming Vampire Movies Nosferatu.
He’s played some crazy evil characters in Joker in the past, but playing Count Orlok was so evil that he never wanted to play a character like that again.
In a recent interview with Empire magazine, Skarsgård said: “When we finished this, I thought, ‘I never want to play with something that evil again. I never want to wear a prosthetic again.'”
He went on to say “it was a relief” when he finished playing the role, adding: “It really affected me. Orlok was a mystical wizard and it had a huge impact on me because I just Want to live in that space.
The actor went on to talk about his transformation into Count Orlok, specifically the vocal aspect, saying he worked with an opera singer to lower his voice a full octave.
“The voice is the part I work the hardest on. I didn’t do much other than record myself for a month and a half before filming. On set, I’ll continue to do these exercises. It sounds a bit like Mongolian throat singing .it is [insane]”.
Nosferatu A dark and twisted tale of obsession between a haunted young woman (Lily-Rose Depp) in 19th-century Germany, ancient Transylvanian vampires stalk her, bringing unspeakable horrors with them.
Eggers previously said of the film: “It’s a horror movie. It’s a horror movie. It’s a gothic horror movie. I do think it’s been a while since there’s been a really scary movie. An old-fashioned gothic movie that I think most viewers will find interesting.
Critics have described the film as bloody, gruesome, haunting, grotesque, stunning, gorgeous and mesmerizing, with one critic saying it’s “harder than any other horror movie this year.”
This movie also stars Nicholas Holt, Emma Corrin (Deadpool 3), Aaron Taylor Johnson (Kraven the hunter), Simon McBurnie (The Conjuring 2) and ralph ineson (witch).
The movie will be released in theaters on December 25, 2024.
