‘Old Man’ canceled after two seasons on FX
The show is adapted from Thomas Perry’s novel of the same name and stars Jeff Bridges as Army veteran and former CIA agent Dan Chase. Season 1 follows Chase as he kills a burglar and goes into hiding. In season 2, he works with former FBI Assistant Director Harold Harper (John Lithgow), who set out to arrest him in season 1, in an effort to rescue Chase’s daughter Emily (Arlie Alia Shawkat) because she was kidnapped by the powerful Afghan tribal leader Faraz Hamzad (Alia Shawkat). )), although Harper and Hamzad also claim her as their own.
“The Old Man” premiered in June 2022 to critical success and high ratings. The second season concluded in October this year and has maintained the positive response of the first season, despite a drop in viewership after the show went off the air for two years.
Jonathan E. Steinberg and Robert Levine developed the television version of “The Old Man” with Dan Shortz, Warren Littlefield, Bridges, David Schiff, Craig West Silverstein serves as executive producer along with Jon Watts. 20th Television produces the series in association with Littlefield Company.
