2022 Korean Police Movie Summary Two detectives are shown destruction criminals in foreign countries. Vietnam. This comic thriller is smooth and fast. Feels like A murder weapon/peak hours mash up. Although to be fair, it is more important than the latter.
story
A chief detective and his captain were sent to Vietnam to collect a South Korean criminal who has been handed over to extradite. After the two arrived, they discovered many traditional Chinese tape festivals, corruption and a group of thugs kidnapped Korean tourists and businessmen to make profits.
The police ended up annoying everyone: Vietnamese police, thugs and North Korean authorities all worked together with their actions. Thus laying the foundation for the stage of murder and chaos. Finally, the two decided to surround them.
Main actor
Ma Dong-Seok, also known as; Don Lee is Ma Seok-do.
Choi Gwi-Hwa is Captain Jeon II-Man.
The son Suk-Ku is Kang Hae-sang.
Yoon Byung-Hee is cooking oil.
Park Ji-Hwan is seeing Jan Yi-soo.
More polished than brass
For Korean police movies, Summary More polished than usual. For Asian action movies, brass is there. Enough boxing and Don Lee fight to satisfy everyone. However, this movie is like the Asian action movie in Hollywood.
Lee, also known as: Ma Dong-Seok is Martin Riggs in this case. Choi Gwi-hwa is a barely Murtu here. The two played against each other almost like a deadly weapon pairing. Son Suk-ku is a very evil bad guy here. He is comparable to any deadly weapon villain.
Park ji-Hwan is a Leo Leo. I admit it is a bit stretched because there isn’t much “dedication and dedication” in this relationship. But it’s as fun as the interaction between the “real” deadly weapon characters with the scammers of the hour.
*To be fair, Ma Dong-Seok’s character seems to be filthier than Martin Riggs. Although the plot and storyline Summary Feel Not only like A murder weapon Movie. *
Interestingly, none of the other “overview” movies did not have the rhythm and polish of the first movie. The rest of the trilogy feels like the standard Korean police ticket price. A slower pace, no tinseltown polish is the first Summary discount.
Interesting side note
After the release of the film, the Vietnamese government apparently banned the film. Their main complaints were allegedly the way Vietnamese officials aka the name; police were portrayed. But, the area; Ho Chi Minh City, where the filming was “deemed too violent”. In fact, it is seen as “…the inability to kidnap and murder tourists without hesitation.” (IMDB.)
Behind the camera
Lee Sang-Yong directs this with style and a certain panic. He managed to bring this Korean police film to an unprecedented level of Polish. The script was jointly obtained by Ma Dong-Seok and has four writers. The project manages to refute the “too many chefs” motto in a revengeful way. Sung-lim Ju as DP gloves with editor Sun-Min Kim. These two work in concert with Sang-Yong, making this not usually visible in Korean police films.
And in front
The stunts are just as first class as the action sequence. Whether it’s fighting, shooting or chasing, everything moves at a burst speed. Interestingly, the large battle scenes have many knives, machetes, etc. Obviously, guns are not the purpose of all other cultures.
judgment
Summary It is a solid 5 star. However, this is based on watching movies with subtitles. The English dubbing version loses a complete star because the English sounds different. *I have the same problem with all dubbing movies except for Chinese action movies. Growing up watching Bruce Lee use those bad “American” accents, making them almost secret and inward fun.
The movie is available through Prime, Peacock, Tubi and Plex. If you are a fan of Korean cinemas, action movies or no, please check it out.
