“Music quite literally controls my entire mind, my mood, everything,” country singer Parker McCollum tells Apple Music’s Kelleigh Bannen. “And I love sad songs at the end of the day when the sun is going down. Always in that headspace when I’m writing songs, I’m right there in the golden hour.” McCollum started hearing those melodies in his head when he was young, before he could even play guitar. “I was always singing some kind of melody, or writing my own lyrics,” he says.
