Penguin show host Lauren LeFrank Recently talked about the fourth episode of the series, which is set in Arkham Asylum. This episode specifically focuses on the story of Sofia Falcone and her time in a mental hospital.
Some fans wanted to see some classic Batman villains like the Joker, Harley Quinn, and the Riddler in Arkham, but that was never really in the plan. The creative team didn’t want anything to distract us from Sofia’s story.
LeFranc shared in an interview with The Direct: “Honestly, for this episode, we were just thinking about Sophia, like Sophia’s journey. It’s a tricky episode because it’s only about an hour long, but we’re in it Tells a lot of stories.
LeFranc further explained: “We didn’t want to have the kitchen sink thrown at us, and we didn’t want a character to detract from her experience.”
She went on to stress that they wanted viewers to “immerse themselves in her perspective and world.”
All the decisions they made for this episode were smart, and it ended up being one of the best and strongest episodes of the series.
