Drake expressed his disdain for Pharrell to Skateboard P on multiple occasions during the bars of Meltdown and Family Matters. Shown in the NERD necklace.
Q Named Pharrell as the 2024 Designer of the Year, the Neptunes legend was asked how he felt about Drake melting his old chains during an interview on Wednesday (November 13), and Pharrell revealed that he doesn’t care.
“No, because I think besides everything that’s going on, at the heart of it all, he’s a music fan,” P said of Drake’s purchase. “He’s a fan of history, and I happen to be a part of it, and those artifacts are a part of it.”
When asked about Drake’s comments and “how it hit him,” Pharrell remained tight-lipped.
“No,” he replied. “No.”
Looking more broadly, the Louis Vuitton men’s creative director explained how giving up all jewelry at auction was his way of losing touch with the value of the items.
“Or not. I guess there are some things that I can’t understand. When you let go, a big part of it is actually letting go,” he added. “Not just the physical object, but letting go of the connection to the thing or memory it was supposed to mean.”
P continued: “You’re essentially letting them go. That’s the purpose. It’s like when people sell something, they say, ‘I just want to make sure you take care of it because it’s my baby.’ ” I said, “No, no, no.” “This is not my baby. That’s why I’m giving it up.”
Drake stabs Pharrell Utopia“Meltdown” with Travis Scott. “I melted the chains I bought from your boss/Af-k’d all this traditional stuff,” he raps.
Pharrell even found himself caught up in the discord between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. Lamar defends super producer on ‘Euphoria’ “I don’t like the shit you gave Pharrell, to him I inherited the beef/Yeah, fuck those people pushing the P, show me you pushing the T,” he gushed.
Drake then responded directly to “Family Matters,” tempting Kendrick to remove his inheritance (in this case, chains) from his mansion. “You want to replace Pharrell/and take his legacy out of my house,” the OVO boss responded.
