The eighties were a colorful era, from thick hair to bold outfits. We’re not just talking about rock bands. From music to movies, it was a great time to be alive.

For fans of ’80s movies who want to relive the golden era, the best fast service is Pluto TV. While some FAST providers offer tons of ’80s-inspired programming, Pluto TV has the best and most diverse selection.

Read on to learn about our top FAST services for fans of ’80s movies.

Then let us know in the comments which ’80s series is your favorite ad-supported streaming service.

    What is express service?

The FAST service is a streaming app that lets users access its extensive collection of movies and TV shows by simply watching a few ads – without paying.

While many people may use the FAST service to watch old TV while also saving money on subscription services, fans of ’80s movies have a different reason. We detail the many advantages of the FAST service in another article. But this issue will focus on which FAST service is best for 1980s movie lovers.

We spent a lot of effort and some mind-numbing research comparing different streaming services to find the one that offers the best collection of ’80s movies.

We considered eight of the best FAST services – Tubi, Freevee, Pluto TV, Roku Channel, Plex, Sling Freestream, Xumo Play and Samsung TV Plus.

The winner among eight contenders for the best 80s movie series is Pluto TV, an over-the-top (OTT) AVOD (advertiser-supported video on demand) service!

Hulu is a premium streaming service with the most diverse collection of titles from the ’80s.

    What is Pluto TV?

Paramount Network owns Pluto TV, which provides viewers with thousands of hours of movies and TV shows for free. You can watch dozens of iconic series like Star Trek, Cheers, and Family Fun.

Or Paramount Pictures’ vast library of films.

Pluto TV operates globally, from the United States to Brazil, parts of Europe, and parts of Latin America.

It works on most devices, from web browsers to streaming devices, iOS and Android smartphones and tablets, and smart TVs. You can even use your favorite gaming console to watch movies.

Choose a movie or show from organized categories like Sports, Kids, Comedy, Movies, Entertainment, Featured, and Tech+Geek (and more).

It also owns several popular cable television networks and news stations, including MTV, NBC, CNN, CBS News, PGA Tour, NFL Channel, and Fox Sports.

Pluto also offers many older shows found on other FAST streaming services, including Roseanne, The First 48, and Gordon Ramsey’s Hell’s Kitchen.

Why Pluto TV is the best express service for 80s movies

During my research phase, I spent quite a bit of time discussing which FAST service I liked best for restoring 80’s movies.

Each FAST streaming service has a comprehensive collection of old movies, so you’ll see some great ’80s shows on every title.

The competition for first place was fierce, with Tubi TV and Pluto TV deciding the winner. Tubi has an impressive selection of old movies, some of which are pretty damn good.

But Pluto TV’s ’80s Rewind category, which offers dozens of cult classics, finally sealed the deal.

I promise I made up my mind before I fell in love with Pluto because it features three of my favorite non-80s movies – Addams Family Values, Axis, and The First Wives Club.

What 80s movies can you find on Pluto TV?

The 1980s were a turning point in filmmaking, unleashing cutting-edge technology, great music, and some of the best costumes in decades.

It has, without a doubt, some of the best movies ever made that are still considered cult classics. But you can also find some hidden gems that most people forget about.

We see filmmakers pushing boundaries through storytelling and young actors making a name for themselves with cheesy roles. The screenwriter also started the trend of movies and shows targeting underserved audiences (teenagers and young adults).

“The Brat Pack” was the beginning of an era and everything started to explode from there, but you won’t find “The Breakfast Club” or “Sixteen Candles” on Pluto.

However, you can find some of my favorite 80s teen hits, including Johnny Be Good by Pack member Anthony Michael Hall.

“Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” stars Brat Pack-adjacent Matt Broderick as Ferris, a high school student trying to enjoy a successful day off from school.

The female-produced Pretty in Pink stars my favorite 80s girl, Molly Ringwald, and Jon Cryer (Big Family, Two and a Half Men) .

directed by a woman Starring the little-known Joyce Hyser, Just One of the Guys tells the hilarious story of a chick who pretends to be a man and tries to prove sexism by getting a job at a newspaper.

Actor John Travolta came to prominence in the ’80s (although I love him even more now). You can find some of his early work on Pluto, like “Urban Cowboy” (big asshole!) and “Look Who’s Talking” (surprisingly sweet).

I first fell in love with Mark Harmon (Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs on NCIS ) in the underrated ’80s classic Summer School.

Funny comedian Eddie Murphy also became popular. If you’re not a weakling who is easily offended, check out his comedic genius on RAW. Trigger warning!

You can also watch his masterpiece “Coming to America” or watch my favorite “One Night in Harlem” featuring Eddie Murphy (he wrote it!), Della Reese, Richard Pry Hall and Arsenio Hall among many other greats.

The 1980s also produced some of the greatest gore movies that are still being remade today, such as Return of the Living Dead, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Devil Wears Prada, The Amityville Horror and Day of the Dead.

You’ll also find comedy-horror movies like Monster Squad, Teen Wolf 2, Invaders from Mars, Killer Klowns from Outer Space, and Elvira, Mistress of the Dark.

Some of my favorite actors got their start in these types of silliness, including Jim Carrey (Bitted Once Upon a Time), Geena Davis (Earth Girls Are Easy), Nicolas Cage ( Vampire’s Kiss”),

We’re also seeing a strong focus on action movies. Sylvester Stallone came to prominence with films such as Rambo and Rambo .

Terminator kindergarten cop and former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is best known for underrated classics like “Raw Deal.”

Martial arts artists such as Jean-Claude Van Damme and Chuck Norris have made their mark on films such as Bloodsport, Kickboxer and The Delta Force ) and other brutal fighting shows attracted audiences.

Finally, there are classics like “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” “Pee-wee He-Man,” “Masters of the Universe,” “Hulk” and “Top Gun.”

If you love late night talk shows like The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, check out The Johnny Carson Show to find out who started it all.

You can also watch classic shows like Matlock (Andy Griffith). Who else is excited for the Kathy Bates reboot? I like her very much.

Before Madea (Tyler Perry) entertained us as a desperate, grumpy old lady, we had heard of Thelma “Mama” Harper (Vicki Lawrence) on Mom’s Family )’s sarcastic witticisms.

“In the Heat of the Night” is a successful police drama starring Carol O’Connor, Alan Autry and David Hart as members of the Sparta, Mississippi Police Department.

“Three’s Company” attracted a cult following from the late 1970s to the early 1980s, catapulting the careers of the three roommate actors. Two of the three have died, John Ritter and Suzanne Summers, leaving only Joyce DeWitt.

Married With Children brought joy to the working class with its comedic storyline of a blue-collar shoe salesman (Ed O’Neill) and his middle-class family.

cheers, Starring Tam Danson, Rhea Perlman, Woody Harrelson, Kirstie Alley and Kelsey Grammer, the pub sketch series has been running for ten years.

Dynasty tells the story of the Carringtons and Colbys throughout the 1980s. In 2017, two feuding Colorado oil tycoon families were given a five-season remake.

“The Jeffersons” is a decades-long situation comedy starring Sherman Hemsley and Isabel Sanford as wealthy black dry cleaners owners George and Louise Jefferson, who carry The son moved into a luxury apartment in Buji.

From the 1970s to the 1980s, “The Love Boat” also enjoyed a decade of success. Fans love the mix of comedy and romance among the crew and patrons of the Pacific Princess cruise ship. The pre-Y2K remake failed, but only lasted two seasons.

“Laverne & Shirley” is unique in that it features two female leads, Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams, and how they deal with social changes in the 1950s and 1960s as two single roommates. antics.

If you’d like to learn about the origins of the legend, Pluto also offers the original seven-season 1980s series MacGyron, starring Richard Dean Anderson. Most current TV fans remember the recent MacGyver series starring Lucas Till.

Family Ties introduced audiences to teen heartthrob Michael J. Fox as Alex Keaton, the ex-hippie parent of Steven (Michael Gross) ) and Alice’s (Meredith Baxter) teenage son.

He also plays the brother of Malorie (Justin Bateman) and Jennifer (Tina Users).

Pluto TV is the best fast service for 80s movie lovers

The great thing about FAST services like Pluto TV, Tubi, Freevee, Roku Channel, etc. is that they have a lot of classic shows.

Calling movies and TV shows from the ’80s old would hurt this Xennial’s feelings, but the truth is unavoidable.

No matter what generation you’re from, we can all agree that the ’80s were all about rock and roll – from rock ‘n’ roll to tubular film productions.

If you need proof that it was a great time, just look at all the series reboots from the ’80s and ’90s productions.

Head over to the comments section and tell me your favorite 80s piece. Is this a movie or a series? What makes it so memorable for you? Don’t forget to subscribe to our newsletter for more TVF news in your inbox.
