4 – Effects need improvement
We found it a little strange that the SynthCell has a fully functional reverb and delay section, while the GrooveCell doesn’t use the same effects. For example, the delay time settings in GrooveCell are based on ratios rather than musically divided times, which is a bit strange for what we consider a rhythm-based plug-in.
Additionally, the reverb effect is a single reverb and cannot be switched between room, hall plate, and non-linear (gating), which is an important sound in the drum world.
We thought it would be best to simply port the reverb and delay from SynthCell, which would make the effect more useful in rhythm plug-ins.
5. The exported audio needs a reasonable name
There are several audio export options in GrooveCell. The first is the ability to export stereo samples and use them as loops. The second is the ability to export samples from the pad as one-shot samples. Both are useful, but not as useful as being able to export the full length stem of each section.
Secondly, the example export is given a strange name, please refer to the image below. It might be more useful to give these samples a more meaningful name (such as a pad name), and then perhaps a unique identifier. Now it’s slightly worse than AUDIO1, AUDIO2, and AUDIO3.
