    PRS For Music Returns as Popular Category Sponsor of the British Music Business Awards

    PRS For Music are sponsors of the British Music Business Awards’ annual A&R: Popular category and, incredibly, the awards are less than two months away.

    The industry’s most enjoyable night of the year will take place on the evening of Tuesday 5th November at the Grand Connaught Rooms in Covent Garden, London, and will celebrate the best examples of A&R and talent development in the UK market, while also recognizing the best talent The talent behind the past 12 months’ success as well as outstanding artist/songwriter management individuals and companies.

    Competition in the pop A&R category has been particularly fierce — Warner Chappell SVP Amber Davis won the award last year for her work with RAYE, Dave, Stormzy and more . Nominees for this and all other categories will be announced in the coming weeks.

    “We are delighted to present this award in recognition of the vital behind-the-scenes support we provide to our talented members of pop songwriters and composers to amplify their voices and visions.”

    Tony Barton, director of writer relations at PRS for Music, said: “The cultural impact, economic impact and emotional connection of pop music are limitless. We are delighted to present this award in recognition of the provision we provide to our talented members of pop songwriters and composers vital behind-the-scenes support to amplify their voices and visions.

    PRS For Music is currently celebrating 110 years of protecting the rights of the music creator community. It represents more than 175,000 songwriters, composers and music publishers. In 2023, it paid £943.6 million in royalties and earned a record revenue of £1.08 billion.
