Pusha T is the latest artist to get involved in the coffee industry, officially launching his own brand.
Although his name makes it sound like coffee wouldn’t be his first choice, the rapper delved into the discography of his nascent coffee, named after Clipse’s 2002 debut single “Grindin’,” which debuted on No. 30 on “Grindin'”. advertising billboard Hot 100.
Pusha’s medley debuted earlier this month as part of a Los Angeles pop-up event alongside Tyler, the Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw Music Festival. According to a press release, it’s described as a “high-caffeine blend” of “strong black coffee that reflects the artist’s taste.”
“All my dreams and ideas stem from my passion,” he said of his new product on social media. “Fortunately, I was able to find partners and platforms to help me realize my vision. It’s just part of who I am and how I start my day.
The launch of Grindin’ Coffee comes after Pusha T recently described rapper Kendrick Lamar as the “king of lyricism.”
During a panel discussion at Revolt World in Atlanta, the Virginia MC spoke highly of his fellow rapper after being asked by host Walter Tucker what he thought of Lamar’s impact on rap music.
“It’s amazing,” Pusha said of Lamar’s impact on rap music during a panel discussion at Revolt World in Atlanta in September. “I’m sure people have said and told him throughout his career, ‘Oh my God. You rap well. You’re great, but you rap too much. You need to make a song like this. You need to do that. It’s great to see him become who he really is, the king of lyricism.
“People who have never even heard the lyrics are reciting his riffs, his fights, his songs,” he added. “It’s great to watch. It’s great for what we do in lyrical hip-hop. It’s great to see.
